The In Shape exhibition by printmaker artist Theo Vorster and ceramist Hennie Meyer will be held at RK Contemporary in Riebeek-Kasteel until 30 July this year. The artists confined their creativity to exploring the idea of shape, which allowed them to delve deeper and reinvent themselves, as both are want to do.
Being confronted by the limitation to focus on shape led the artists to question certain aspects of their work and opened the door to many possibilities, building on the existing elements each artist is known for.
Said Theo Paul Vorster: “I continue to explore a recurring theme in my work, the old masters. This, combined with my interest in Greek mythology, has resulted in a series of tongue-in-cheek creatures that dwell in the world of the old masters.”
Hennie Meyer adds that the ceramics he created for this exhibition explore the fluidity of shape.
The exhibition is on at RK Contemporary, 32 Main Street, Riebeek-Kasteel or view online at website www.rkcontemporary.com
