NORTHRIDING – Honeydew police have seized suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of R300 million during an intelligence-driven operation targeting the illicit drug trade.

The operation was conducted at a plot in Northriding at approximately 20:30 on Saturday, 12 September, after police received information about suspected drug-related activities.

According to police, the information was swiftly operationalised, resulting in the recovery of the suspected cocaine.

During the operation, officers also seized a black Land Cruiser SUV. The vehicle was allegedly displaying false registration numbers and had an allegedly altered Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

No arrests have been made at this stage. Investigations are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the seizure and identify those who may be linked to the suspected criminal activity.

Honeydew police said they would continue intensifying intelligence-driven operations aimed at disrupting the illicit drug trade and other serious crimes. These efforts will include cooperation with other law-enforcement agencies and communities.

Members of the public are encouraged to report suspected criminal activity to the police via the Crime Stop hotline on 08600 10111. Information can also be submitted anonymously through the MySAPS app.
