Johannesburg – Jeppe High School for Boys proudly celebrates Kyle Hex, whose exceptional talent in public speaking has earned him national recognition in English and Afrikaans competitions.
National Titles and Accolades
At the Interschool Public Speaking National Finals, Kyle won the Grade 8 English Unprepared category. He was also placed third in the Prepared category. He later also won the Kansvatter National Finals, claiming the Grade 8 Afrikaans Prepared Public Speaking title.
His dominance continued at the Con Spirito Eisteddfod. He won Grade 8 in all nine categories he entered. Adding to this, Kyle received two prestigious overall high‑school awards:
- Best High School Online Public Speaker and Redenaar (Grades 8–12)
- Overall Best High School Live Public Speaker and Redenaar (Grades 8–9)
At the Vivarté competition, Kyle triumphed in multiple divisions, winning both English and Afrikaans Unprepared Public Speaking for Grades 8 and 9, the Bilingual category, and the Overall Best Grade 8 and 9 award.
Versatility Across Languages and Formats
What makes these achievements remarkable is the breadth of disciplines in which Kyle excelled—English and Afrikaans, prepared and unprepared, live, online, and bilingual. His consistent success across formats underscores his versatility and dedication.
Balancing Excellence and School Spirit
Despite his demanding competition schedule, Kyle remains actively involved in Jeppe life. He has returned to rugby training following an earlier injury, exemplifying his commitment to both academics and sport.
