Kearsney College celebrates representative selections after students earned provincial and national honours across golf, mountain biking and tennis.
Hollister tees up national duty
Golfer Asher Hollister has been rewarded for consistent performances with selection to the SA U19 Inter Provincial team that will compete at King David Mowbray Golf Club from 14-18 December. The call-up represents a significant milestone for the talented teenager, who will test himself against the nation’s finest junior golfers on one of the Western Cape’s premier layouts.

The December tournament will provide invaluable experience as he continues developing his game at the highest levels.
Mountain bikers tackle nationals
On the trails, Kearsney’s Declan de Haas represented the KZN mountain biking schools’ squad at the recent National High Schools Interprovincial competition in Stellenbosch. The Grade 10 rider tackled his first nationals on a notoriously tough course against a quality field, gaining crucial experience that will serve him well in future campaigns.
De Haas wasn’t meant to be Kearsney’s sole representative at the prestigious event. Top KZN rider Cole Baxter, also in Grade 10, earned selection but was cruelly ruled out through injury. His selection alone confirms his status as one of the province’s brightest young mountain biking prospects.
Tennis stars head to Pretoria
On the courts, Liam van Bronkhorst and Michael Lawrence have earned call-ups to the KZN U15A and U15B teams respectively. The pair will represent the province at the Inter Provincial Tournaments (IPTs) in Pretoria during January, joining the province’s best junior tennis talent for the prestigious competition.
Van Bronkhorst’s selection to the A team marks him as one of KZN’s premier U15 players, whilst Lawrence’s B team call-up confirms his steady rise through the ranks.
