Glenwood High School, Durban, is pleased to welcome old boy, Leon Bezuidenhout and his son Jaden to Glenwood in 2021!
“I matriculated in 2003 from Glenwood. What I loved about Glenwood is the culture they have and the respect and manners they instil in their boys. What also excited me was the opportunity to try my hand at a number of extra-mural activities not offered by many schools. After trying out a few like cricket, swimming, musketry and rugby, I settled on playing rugby throughout my years at Glenwood as rugby is my passion. I was never a superstar but rugby taught me a lot. I have hardly missed an old boys’ day and attend a few rugby matches each year.
I currently work for EOH, the largest IT company in South Africa, offering the widest array of technology solutions in the country. I work for the Nextec division as the Regional Service Delivery Manager. We do security solutions such as Integrated Access Control, Time & Attendance, CCTV and Fire Detection.
The decision to send my son to Glenwood was quite simple. Since the day I knew I was having a son, I knew immediately that one day I would be sending him to Glenwood. I want my son to experience the same amazing journey I went on during my time at the school. Glenwood moulded me into the man I am today. They have strong values and traditions that seem to be fading in other schools these days. They have a balanced offering between academics, sporting and cultural activities, I know my son will benefit from this greatly in his future. I have also made lifelong friends from my time at Glenwood. My blood is and always will be green!”
