GHS Cook Off. Pietermaritzburg Girls’ High School recently hosted its first ever Great GHS Cook-Off. The top Grade 10, 11 and 12 Consumer Studies learners got to show off the skills that have gained during their time in the GHS kitchens.

What a great way to showcase what GHS has offered its learners through this subject. They hosted four local chefs as their judges. They are Jackie Cameron from the Jackie Cameron School of Food & Wine, Renzo Hamblin of Hamblin’s catering, Gregg Oosthuisen, founder and owner of Sagewood Café and Janet Boyd the owner of Nino’s in Hilton and Howick.

After months of planning and a good two days of preparations, the Grade 11 Dessert team Kirsten Volson, Sameeha Khan, Leandra Pillay & Caitlyn van Dyk, were the outright winners claiming Best Dessert, People’s Choice and Dish of the Day.
