Fairmont High School, Cape Town, proudly congratulates Riley Phillips (gr. 8SN) on an extraordinary series of achievements in Polocrosse.
A dedicated member of the Unicorns Polo Club in Paarl, Riley recently traveled to Sedgefield to compete for a place at the 2026 Junior Inter‑Provincial Tournament (IPT). His team triumphed in their division. This secured his selection to represent the Western Cape U14 team at the Junior IPT in KwaZulu‑Natal.
This milestone was particularly significant, marking the Western Cape’s return to the Junior IPT after more than eight years. Both the U12 and U14 provincial teams brought home gold, with the U14s finishing in a three‑way tie for first place.
Riley’s success continued at the Junior Classics, where over 80 young riders from across South Africa competed in handicap divisions. Riding in the B Division, Riley and his team once again emerged victorious, rounding off a remarkable week of competition.
Adding to his accolades, Riley has earned his PASA Provincial Colours for 2026 and achieved a 2‑goal handicap, a testament to his hard work, progress, and rising stature in the sport.
At the heart of these achievements is Riley’s partnership with Bullseye, his 10‑year‑old Australian Stock Horse who has been part of his family since birth. Their bond exemplifies the spirit of polocrosse and makes each triumph deeply meaningful.
