The President’s Award is more than a list of accomplishments. It is also a journey of perseverance, service, courage, and personal growth. Furthermore it inspires young women to challenge themselves, discover new strengths, and make meaningful contributions to their communities.
At Diocesan School for Girls, Makhanda, the school proudly celebrates its recent recipients of the Bronze, Silver, and Gold President’s Awards.
- Bronze Award: Jessica Robinson, Madison Starkey, Gemma de Wet, Elam Petse, and Tsegofatso Mphahlele. They are committed to developing new skills. Participating in sports, completing an adventurous journey, and giving back through 24 hours of community service.
- Silver Award: Natasha White and Nalendi Zhungu built on these foundations. They are embracing greater challenges, completing a more demanding journey, and contributing 48 hours of service.
- Gold Award: Rachel achieved the highest level. She dedicated 72 hours to serving children and local organizations, excelling in ballet, modern dance, and indoor cycling, and qualifying as an instructor. Her resilience was tested and strengthened during the 21-day John Jones Fish River Journey. There she grew in teamwork, independence, and reflection.

DSG Makhanda extends heartfelt congratulations to all our recipients. Their courage to step beyond comfort zones, serve others, and embrace new experiences. It reflects the very essence of The President’s Award. We are deeply proud of each of them and look forward to seeing where their journeys lead next.
