Ballito, KwaZulu‑Natal — Ashton International College proudly celebrates the triumph of its U18 Indoor Hockey Girls Team. They were crowned Maris Stella–Afrihost Festival Champions after a thrilling final against St John’s.
The championship clash was a spectacle of skill and determination. Both teams battled fiercely, producing a nail‑biting 4–4 draw that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. With the title hanging in the balance, the match advanced to a penalty shootout. Displaying composure under immense pressure, the Ashton u-18 girls held their nerve and secured the decisive victory.
Adding to the celebrations, Amber van den Hoogen was deservedly named Goalkeeper of the Festival. It is a testament to her outstanding performances throughout the tournament. Her resilience and sharp reflexes proved pivotal in Ashton’s success.
This achievement reflects not only the team’s talent but also their unity, perseverance, and pride in representing Ashton International College. The school community applauds the players, coaches, and supporters whose dedication and spirit made this victory possible.
