BRONVILLE – Police are appealing to the public for assistance in tracing a person of interest in connection with the murder of a 40-year-old man in Winnie Park, Bronville.

According to police, officers were called to a reported assault in Winnie Park on Saturday, 25 July. Upon arrival, they found a man lying motionless in a pool of blood with severe head and chest injuries. A knobkerrie and a sharp iron bar were recovered at the scene.

Emergency medical services declared the victim dead at the scene. He was later identified by his family as Tumelo Moejane (40).

Preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased and another man were allegedly involved in an argument that escalated into a physical altercation. Police allege that the suspect struck Moejane with a sharp iron bar before fleeing the scene, leaving him critically injured.

Police have identified Tshidiso Chele (42), also known as “Moshesha”, as a person of interest who may be able to assist with the investigation. He is believed to be a Lesotho national from Tsakholo, Mafeteng.
