Two separate police operations across the Western Cape netted 90kg of dagga worth an estimated R720 000 and a stash of Mandrax tablets over the weekend.
Acting on intelligence about a vehicle transporting drugs, De Rust police spotted and stopped the described vehicle on Saturday 10 October.

A search uncovered black plastic bags containing 90 kilograms of dagga with an estimated street value of R720 000. Three men and a woman, aged between 37 and 46, were arrested for dealing in dagga. They are due to appear in the Oudtshoorn Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
In a separate incident, the Anti-Gang Unit searched a premises in Rebecca Street, Montrose Park, where they confiscated 91 rounds of ammunition, 277 Mandrax tablets, 50 grams of crushed Mandrax powder and two 9mm magazines.

A 46-year-old man was arrested for the illegal possession of ammunition and drugs. He is expected to appear in the Mitchell’s Plain Magistrates’ Court once charged.
