Mel Botes will perform at Die Bôrdienghuis Theatre in Wellington on Friday 31 March at 19:00.

His show, Guitar Heroes, is a tribute to Carlos Santana, Eric Clapton, JJ Cale, Dave Gilmour, Gary Moore, Mark Knopfler, Jimi Hendrix and Steve Lukather.

For years Botes has entertained audiences all over the country with his critically acclaimed musical performances, Crazy Diamond – A Tribute to Pink Floyd, Dark Side of the Moon (second in the series of Pink Floyd tribute shows) and Sultans of Swing – tribute to Dire Straits.

Audiences and critics agreed he had mastered the complexity and density of the music of these shows in a way none of the other tribute shows have achieved, and they feature the same pinpoint accuracy in his playing, the same delightful Botes touch.

Friday’s performance promises everything audiences have come to expect from the virtuoso and will feature his personal favourites from his guitar heroes, including Santana, Clapton, Cale, Gilmour, Moore, Knopfler, Hendrix and Lukather.

This show also gives him the opportunity to showcase some of his own work, in addition to a selection of those of the most successful rock guitarists of all time.

Doors open at 17:00 and pizza and wine will be on sale.

For those wishing to attend tickets, at R180 per person, can be booked with Jeanine on 061 156 5386.
