In what is described as a “youth brainstorming session”, a number of projects and ideas for future projects were discussed by youth members of several Rotary Interact Clubs in Kimberley.
The event earlier in May was arranged and convened by Mary-anne Daubermann, president of Rotary Kimberley – District 9370. It was attended by 45 youth members of the Interact Club of the Kimberley Girls’ High School, Northern Cape High School, St. Patrick’s CBC and the Sol Plaatje University Rotaract Club.
The ideas and discussions for future projects included, amongst other, the donation of school shoes, visiting victims of gender-based violence, homes for people with disabilities, the elderly that need help, mental health in schools, and cancer awareness.
Richard Jones, the chair of the Satellite E-Club, shared a video on the menstrual cup programme that is running in conjunction with the Carrol Creek Rotary Club in America.
