Due to low reservoir levels after the five-day water shutdown in Kimberley, daily interruptions of water supply will continue in the city.

On Wednesday just before 14:00, Thoko Riet, spokesperson of the Sol Plaatje Municipality, said water supply “on the direct take offs” will be closed to boost reservoir levels.

Riet said water supply will be restored today at 16:00 and will be switched off again at 21:00. It will be restored at 04:00.

“From Thursday, until the reservoir levels reach full capacity, we will switch off supply daily at 11:00 to 16:00, and again from 21:00 to 04:00,” she stated.

This is to boost capacity supply at the water reservoir.

Riet said further communication will follow.

“The community’s patience and understanding whilst we are restoring the water levels to operational conditions is highly appreciated,” she concluded.
