Two men who were allegedly busy stealing cables at Kamfersdam outside Kimberley were arrested on Friday, 3 February. It is alleged that the two men, aged 19 and 29, were found in possession of 50 m of two-core copper cables and 30 m of 24-core copper cables, with an estimated value of R19 000. Five spades and a hack saw were also found in their possession. Sgt Dikeledi Gopane, SAPS communication officer in Kimberley, said they were arrested by members of Kimberley Visible Policing after information was received of two unknown male persons allegedly stealing cables. The suspects were arrested, and will soon appear in the Kimberley Magistrates Court on charges of theft of copper.
