Kuruman is set to welcome a transformative addition to its retail landscape, with the opening of the Segonyana Mall in November 2025.

This highly anticipated project by the Moolman Group, a leading property developer, will bring a safe and secure shopping experience to the heart of the bustling town.

The Segonyana Mall officially broke ground with a sod-turning ceremony on 2 December, marking the commencement of construction. This milestone follows years of planning and multiple delays, signalling the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the community.

The ceremony was attended by, amongst others, the executive mayor, municipal manager, and key delegates from local authorities who have played an instrumental role in supporting the realisation of the mall. Their unwavering commitment to the development has been crucial in bringing this vision to life, promising to be a major catalyst for local economic growth and job creation.

This mall will cater to the expanding needs of residents with an exciting mix of diverse retailers. In addition to anchor tenants Shoprite and Boxer, shoppers can look forward to big-name brands like Sheet Street, Home Choice, Totalsports and Sportscene.

Essential services as provided by the likes of Capitec Bank and Arrie Nel Pharmacy will ensure convenience, while popular fashion brands like Mr Price, Pep, Markhams and Choice Clothing bring style closer to home. Roots Butchery and Boxer Liquor are included in the line-up of 34 stores.

The 3,1 ha site is conveniently located at the corner of Tsening Road and Breë Street, directly opposite the taxi rank.

Spanning approximately 11 000 m2 of gross lettable area, the centre will feature a single-level parking facility for easy access. High-level security will ensure a safe shopping experience.

Beyond retail offerings, the mall will boost local economic growth, generating much-needed jobs during and after construction.

“This development is about creating a space that serves the people of Kuruman,” said Pieter Beyers of the Moolman Group.

“The mall is an investment in the community’s future, with modern infrastructure that harmonises with the town’s growth, strengthening its position as an economic and social hub in the Northern Cape.”

Designed with a focus on security and accessibility, the Segonyana Mall will become an attraction for national brands and local businesses alike.
