The operation comprised a multitude of detectives, specialised units, the provincial tracking team, and reaction units from all over the province, said Lt. Col Sergio Kock, police spokesperson.

The teams from stations and components zoned in on daily wanted persons and circulated wanted persons and persons linked with forensic leads.

The team also honed in on gender-based violence and femicide (GBVF); property crimes; the damaging, tampering and theft of essential Infrastructure; and the proliferation of firearms and drugs.

Outstanding arrests, with the assistance of Tracker, included the arrest of a suspect in Kimberley for possession of two Telkom generators, recently stolen from within the Free State. The generators are valued at half a million rand.

In a separate incident on Thursday morning, a team spotted two suspicious looking men and caught them red-handed while dealing in drugs. The suspects were arrested and drugs with an estimated street value of R7 500 was confiscated in Galeshewe, Kimberley.
