The Galeshewe Family Child and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit are investigating a rape case following the sexual assault of a 23-year-old female victim on an open veld near John Daka in Galeshewe, Kimberley, on Thursday, 8 September.
Sgt Timothy Sam of Galeshewe Communications said preliminary investigations indicate that the victim was walking to her boyfriend when she was politely approached by an unknown male who offered to accompany her to the boyfriend’s place.
When walking through an open veld, the suspect requested to have sex with the victim as a reward for his good deed. The victim refused.
The suspect then grabbed and pulled the victim down and raped her.
The suspect was wearing blue overall pants, is short and light in complexion, slender built, with dreaded hair, and speaks Tswana.
The police are requesting the public to assist with information that may lead to the apprehension and arrest of the suspect and the investigation of the case.
