Residents take stand against gender-based violence

EFF members protested outside the Kuruman magistrates court last week. Scores of residents of the Promised Land informal settlement staged a silent protest against gender-based violence as Gordon Dipakhedi appeared on a charge of murder on Tuesday. He is accused of the brutal murder of Keitumetse Applegreen on 13 June when Dipakhedi allegedly beat her repeatedly over the head with a spade and a hammer and hanged her inside her house.
