Pensioners must be aware of fraudsters pretending to be representatives of a financial institution who offer pension assistance for a fee.

Residents of Kuruman are advised to be cautious and vigilant as reports have emerged of fraudsters falsely claiming to represent Alexforbes, a well-known financial institution.

According to a press release from the institution on Wednesday, 17 May, fraudsters impersonating Alexforbes offer pension assistance for a fee.

These individuals are approaching community members and offering pension assistance in exchange for a fee, the institution said, while emphasing that it is important to note that these fraudsters have no affiliation with Alexforbes.

“We urge residents to exercise caution and don’t share any personal information, such as banking details, through these channels,” Alexforbes stated.

Legitimate financial institutions, including Alexforbes, will never ask for personal information through these means.
