The police in Kakamas need the public’s assistance in tracing a rape suspect.

Capt. CJ Prins, police spokesperson, said that on 26 June a woman went for a late afternoon jog in the vineyards near the Kakamas Industrial area.

She heard footsteps behind her, and when she stopped and turned around an unknown man asked her for money.

The woman told him that she did not have money with her.

The suspect then pushed her to the ground, overpowered her, and raped her. He then grabbed the victim’s cellphone and walked away.

An identikit of the suspect was compiled. The suspect is between 20 to 25 years old, is approximately 1,55 m tall, and of medium-build. At the time of the crime he was wearing a black beanie, denim trousers, and a dark blue golf shirt.
