The former municipal manager (MM) of the Phokwane Local Municipality, Matshidiso Cordelia Mogale (48), made a brief appearance in the Hartswater Magistrate’s Court on 3 March.
She faces eight charges of fraud, and the contravention of the Municipal Finance Management Act, involving more than R2,7 million.
Mojalefa Senokoatsane, regional spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), says the Hawks’ investigations are ongoing. The next court date is 24 May.
