Through the Women Diggers Programme, women within mining communities will be empowered with the purpose of increasing women representation in the industry.
For this programme, Kumba Iron Ore’s Sishen Mine has partnered with the Department of Mineral Resources. The programme has identified 12 women from the John Taolo Gaetsewe District (JTG).
The year-long initiative will provide participants with employment experience and training.
The initiative will welcome another group of participants to ensure a sustained effort in developing and empowering women from the area.
