Pieter Korkie from the Free State is the male winner in the 105 km Cross-Country Marathon (XCM) MTB Battle of the Bikes race that took place on 1 October. This event was presented by Oryx Endurance. Korkie raced over historical battle fields between Kimberley and Bloemfontein in 3:12:14. Tania Visser from the Northern Cape is the female winner in the 105 km race, with a time of 3:45:00. This interprovincial event was initiated by the Northern Cape and commenced from the Magersfontein Memorial Estate at Modderrivier. The Free State cyclists were announced as the winners.
