Athlete at the Klipspringer Challenge.
“An epic, unforgettable, and challenging wet weekend.” This is how the organisers of this year’s Klipspringer Challenge and Klipspringer Lite described these desert running events that took place on 3 and 4 May in the Augrabies National Park, with incredible sights along the scenic routes. The results of day one and two indicate that Thomas Miller won the full challenge (male category) in 4:53:57, while Marelie Meintjies won the female category in 7:06:00. The Lite event (male category) was won by Pieter Laubscher (3:11:34) and Hermine Smit (female category, 3:21:02). Amália Aracena (photo), the third female to cross the finishing line in the Lite challenge, shows her klipspringer move. Visit Augrabies Falls Klipspringer Challenge on Facebook for more information.
