Funeral services for the 11 young men who died in a vehicle accident were held on Saturday (10/09) and Sunday at several John Taolo Gaetsewe District Municipality venues.
The men died on 4 September when the two vehicles they were driving in collided near the Kagung village, roughly 21 km from Kuruman on the N14.
On the day of the accident, Russel Meiring, spokesperson for ER24, confirmed that an Audi and a VW Golf were involved in a head-on collision.
The deceased are: Tshepo Danny Mecwi (26), Temoso Marvin Mogaswe (20), Goitseone Vincent Kubang (21), Itumeleng Edward Mecwi (32) and Tshediso Balebi (17), all from Washington; Tshepo Eddie Moagi (27) from Seoding; Elvis Gaseranolwe (32) and Okhetile Reuben Kedirileng (29), both from Mapoteng; Akhona Ntsika Martin (28) from Mothibistad; Kaone Fortune Lebatlang (26) from Tsaelengwe; and Boikanyo Milton Mosia (27) from Tsaelengwe.
Services took place at the Thabo Moorosi Multipurpose Centre, the Washington Sports Ground and in Tsaelengwe.
The MECs Nontobeko Vilakazi and Mase Manopole, among others, were attendees of the various services in memory of the road accident victims.
