The police in Deben, Northern Cape, are requesting the assistance of the public in their search for the four-year-old Ali Moncho who allegedly went missing on Tuesday, 18 July, at approximately 13:00.

His mother alleges that Ali was playing outside in their yard and later came in to the house to eat. He then resumed playing outside.

Lt. Col Sergio Kock, police spokesperson, said Ali was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt and mustard-coloured tracksuit pants.

His mother searched for him in the neighbourhood and reported him missing at the Deben police station the following day.

A search party with members of the police’s Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) unit in Kathu, Kuruman K9 unit, provincial police’s Search and Rescue team, Deben police, and members of the community was orchestrated.

Kock said the public is reminded that there is no waiting period to report a person missing, and should do so immediately.
