This year’s National Senior Certificate (NSC) examination was concluded last week, after the exams commenced on 21 October.

According to the Northern Cape Department of Education, no major incidents were reported for the duration of the examination.

The department commenced with the next phase on Sunday, 1 December, when the marking centres were officially opened by MEC Abraham Vosloo.

According to Geoffrey van der Merwe, media liaison officer, the release of the provincial matric results will take place on Tuesday, 14 January, in Kimberley.

The department has cautioned Gr. 12 learners not to attend “pens down” parties, as it could impact negatively on their future.

The department is calling on law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout for these parties and has encouraged school communities to report such parties to the police.
