MBOMBELA – The helicopter that went missing with four occupants on board has been successfully located in the Kruger National Park this morning, Tuesday 7 April.

All four individuals are alive and unharmed, police confirmed. They include a pilot and two SAPS investigators, as well as an Environmental Crime investigator.

Brigadier Donald Mdhluli, national spokesperson for the police, explained the circumstances that led to the crew going missing.

“The group safely landed in a remote area on Monday, but as they attempted to navigate through the thick bush, they could not find the chopper. After spending the night in the bush, they were spotted this morning by the search team using a SANParks helicopter as they waved for assistance,” says Mdhluli.
