CAPE TOWN – A rising rugby star for the Lions, appeared in court today (5 November) on charges of assault.
Bronson Mills (22), who plays centre for the Lions, was allegedly involved in an altercation with a student from Cape Town in the early hours of the morning last week Monday (27 October).
Mills reported to the Hout Bay police station on Tuesday (4 November) where, according to police spokesperson in the Western Cape, Captain FC van Wyk, Mills was processed.
“Mills appeared in the Wynberg magistrate’s court and the case was postponed until 11 November,” van Wyk said.
The 22-year old student, Marumo Selane, alleges that Mills repeatedly assaulted him after an altercation at a mutual friend’s house. Mills has denied the charges against him.
According to Lions spokesperson, Nyaniso Sam, the Lions would not comment on the case before being brought up to speed by the player’s legal representative.
The Lions next face the Bulls, in the Juksei-derby on 29 November.
