Gqeberha businessman Rob Evans (58), who is accused of murdering his girlfriend, Vanessa van Rensburg, will spend more time behind bars following his court appearance today.

Evans appeared in the Humansdorp Magistrate’s Court on Monday, May 12, after spending the weekend in custody following his arrest on May 9. The case has been remanded until Friday, May 16, when his formal bail application will be heard.

Dressed in a khaki jacket, shorts, and boots, Evans maintained a neutral demeanor throughout the proceedings and remained largely stoic during the brief court session.

As previously reported by Express, the body of Van Rensburg was discovered at a holiday home allegedly belonging to Evans in Oyster Bay, a small community near Jeffreys Bay, on April 20.

At the time of her death, the deceased resided in Walmer, Gqeberha.

The deceased mother of two—children aged 8 and 4—was remembered by her family as compassionate and selfless. They said she touched countless lives with her remarkable ability to love unconditionally.
