More than just race day

Specific Western Cape venues will be announced on social media in the lead-up to each run.Chris Goldschmidt, chairperson of the Two Oceans Marathon NPC, says the Training Run Series is about building community and keeping runners connected long before they toe the start line.

“The journey to the TTOM powered by BYD is about so much more than race day,” he says. “Our Training Run Series gives runners the opportunity to come together, stay motivated and build towards their goals alongside fellow members of the TTOM community. We want to create that excitement and anticipation from the very first training run right through to race weekend.”

Event director Wade Bromfield adds that the series also gives partners a meaningful way to engage with runners on the ground.

“Our Training Run Series gives our partners a valuable opportunity to connect with runners in an authentic, on-the-ground environment, while adding real value to their training journey. From expert advice and training support to product experiences and activations, we want every training run to offer something meaningful for the TTOM community.”

Registration for Training Run #1 in Sandton opens on Monday 26 October, with the entry link shared on social media. Entrants are encouraged to follow the TTOM social channels for updates on Western Cape venue announcements and registration details for subsequent runs.

The 2027 TTOM powered by BYD takes place from Wednesday 31 March to Sunday 4 April next year, with the half-marathon on Saturday 3 April and the ultra-marathon on Sunday 4 April.
