Organisers of the popular Two Oceans Marathon have announced the dates for the 2027 instalment.
Those looking to tackle the race, dubbed “the world’s most beautiful marathon”, can mark Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 April on their 2027 calendars.
The organisers have announced an Event Week format that will see the Totalsports Two Oceans half-marathon powered by BYD take place on 3 April, before the legendary Totalsports Two Oceans ultra-marathon powered by BYD on 4 April.
Taking place from Wednesday 31 March to Sunday 4 April 2027, the enhanced Event Week programme – featuring the Night Run, International Friendship Run, Trail Run, half-marathon and ultra-marathon – is designed to elevate the participant experience while creating an extraordinary celebration of endurance, achievement and community.

Enhanced schedule
“We are excited to unveil a revitalised Event Week format for 2027 that will transform the Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon powered by BYD into an even bigger celebration of running, community and camaraderie,” says Chris Goldschmidt, chairperson of the Two Oceans Marathon NPC.
“This enhanced schedule gives each event its own moment to shine, enriches the experience for runners and supporters alike and creates a memorable build-up to the ultimate highlight of the week; the Totalsports Two Oceans ultra-marathon powered by BYD.
“While this marks an exciting evolution for the event we remain firmly committed to preserving the spirit, traditions and rich legacy that have earned [the marathon] its reputation as the world’s most beautiful marathon.”

Growth in numbers
Event direct Wade Bromfield said next year’s edition represents an exciting step forward, with significantly increased capacity ensuring more runners can experience the iconic race weekend.
“The 2027 [marathon] represents a major milestone for the event, with increased capacity allowing even more runners to be part of this iconic experience,” he pointed out.
“The [half-marathon] will now grow from 17 000 to 21 000 participants, while the [ultra-marathon] will increase from 14 000 to 21 000 participants, opening the door for thousands more athletes to share in the magic.”
