Entries for three sub-events of the 2027 Totalsports Two Oceans opened this week, while the ballot entry process for the iconic half and ultra marathon is also open.

Runners can now sign up for the Night Run (8 km), International Friendship Run (4,5 km) and Trail Runs (24, 16 and 12 km).

The running festival will be held from Wednesday 31 March to Sunday 4 April next year.

Five events, one festival

“Whether you’re hoping to earn a place in the iconic half marathon or ultra marathon through the ballot, or joining us for the Night Run, International Friendship Run or Trail Runs, every event forms part of a celebration of our running community,” said Chris Goldschmidt, chairperson of the Two Oceans Marathon NPC.

“We look forward to welcoming thousands of participants back to Cape Town in 2027 to experience the passion, camaraderie and beauty that have made the Two Oceans Marathon the world’s most beautiful marathon.”

Highlighting the unique experiences that await participants, event director Wade Bromfield said the 2027 event promises something special for every runner, from first-timers to veterans.

“The 2027 Totalsports Two Oceans Marathon promises an unforgettable week of running, with each event offering a unique opportunity to experience Cape Town and the incredible spirit of our running community,” he said.

“From the excitement of the Night Run and the camaraderie of the International Friendship Run to the adventure of the Trail Runs and the prestige of the half marathon and ultra marathon, there’s truly something for everyone. We encourage runners to familiarise themselves with the entry timelines and ballot process. With both [marathons] boasting an increased capacity of 21 000 runners, we look forward to welcoming even more participants to what promises to be another unforgettable edition of this iconic event.”

Ballot applications will be taken from 10:00 on Wednesday 5 August to 22:00 on Sunday 16 August.

The successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified on Tuesday 18 August and will have until Monday 30 August to complete their entry payment.
