Van der Stel Cricket Club crowned champions of Boland Premier League.
The Van der Stel Cricket Club ended the 2025-’26 cricket season on a historic high last Saturday (28 March), with its first and second teams being crowned champions in their respective Cricket Boland leagues. Apart from the first team (pictured) winning the union’s Premier League (50 overs) after a commanding victory over Robertson CC, the club also claimed the spoils in the Boland T20 Community Cup earlier in the season. The second team was the overall winner of the Cricket Boland Premier B division. In a social media post, the club wrote: “These aren’t just about winning, it’s the result of years of graft, belief and relentless building and camaraderie! Years of commitment and a culture all leading to this moment… Our legacy has stood strong for years, and today’s triumph becomes part of its foundation, driving us to rise even higher and carry this standard forward for generations to come. Van der Stel is our place, for our town, our people! Van der Stel isn’t coming, nor going; we’re here! Congratulations!”
