Somerset West police are investigating a case of culpable homicide following a fatal rollover crash outside Raithby last Wednesday (27 August). According to police spokesperson Sergeant Suzan Jantjies, the accident occurred on the corner of the R44 and Cordoba Road at 03:50. "It is believed that the vehicle, with five occupants, was travelling from Strand towards Stellenbosch," she said. "The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, which overturned. One occupant, a 26-year-old Zimbabwean national, died on impact while four others were transported to hospital." Jantjies said the cause of the accident is being investigated.
