The e’Bosch Heritage Project, in partnership with Stellenbosch University (SU), hosted its annual Community Leadership Training Course project presentationed at the Old Lückhoff building in Stellenbosch.

Sixteen teams presented community-development projects that addressed a wide range of local needs.

While several of the initiatives are already operational others were presented as well-developed plans ready for implementation.

Making a difference

The course equips participants with practical leadership skills by teaching them how to identify and assess community needs, develop realistic project plans, determine the resources required, define measurable outcomes and present their ideas professionally.

Participants also gained a deeper understanding of leadership, heritage and community development, with many of the projects contributing directly to the heritage economy.

The presentations covered a broad spectrum of community priorities, including early-childhood development, youth development, support for the elderly, assistance to vulnerable children and initiatives aimed at strengthening local communities.

Sustainable change

This training course is held annually and provides community members who are passionate about addressing social challenges with the knowledge, skills and practical tools needed to transform ideas into sustainable community projects.

The projects reflected a strong sense of hope and commitment.

Participants presented initiatives such as establishing a community library, supporting vulnerable groups, including the elderly and homeless, and creating opportunities that strengthen social cohesion and improve quality of life within their communities.
