Somerset West police are requesting the public’s assistance with information regarding a fatal collision that claimed the life of a motorcyclist last Friday (10 March).
According to Sergeant Suzan Jantjies, spokesperson for the Somerset West police, the accident occurred near the weighbridge on the N2 in Somerset West around 16:00. “A motorist was driving in the direction of Somerset West when he decided to make a u-turn on the highway through the bush barricade and collided with a motorcyle. The motorcyclist died on the scene.”
A case of culpable homicide was registered and the suspect was arrested on the scene.
Station commander Colonel Jacolize Fleischmann expressed her condolences to the family of the 45-year-old deceased.
An appeal is made to anyone who witnessed the accident to come forward and contact Detective Sergeant Selwyn de Koker on 021 850 1344 with information that may be crucial.
