HelderbergFM was very proud to have been invited to The Telkom SA Radio Awards held at The Sandton Convention Centre in Johannesburg this year and celebrates the best in South African radio. The local radio station is very proud to have had three nominations with two wins in the categories.
The SA Radio Awards was a fantastic evening with the likes of Carl Wastie and radio celebrities such as Anele and The Club on 947.
This year Vanessa Bourne won the award for her campaign, Silver Hare is Goud werd/Silver Hair is Solid Gold, which was honoured with the Best Community Project award. With her passion for the elderly she managed to raise awareness and funds.
Best Music Show (Community Radio) was awarded to Hanlé Barnard of Old School with Hanlé Barnard on Saturdays from 12:00 to 15:00 on HelderbergFM. This show has attracted attention due to its edgy nature and audience participation. This informative music show celebrates music and its legends. Barnard has pushed the boundaries, playing music with hard rock styles from the 80’s and 70’s.
She is also an award-winning actress who has appeared in films, including Meerkat Maantuig and Modder en Bloed.
Lindi Erasmus was also nominated in the Best Music Show category this year.
