Staff of Tru-Cape Fruit Marketing showed their support for Mandela Day (Monday 18 July) by delivering cartons of apples and pears to charities of their choice, including Somerset West Night Shelter, Vonke House and Halli Trust in the Helderberg. A total of 44 cartons of fruit were delivered in the Western Cape and 23 cartons in Johannesburg, bringing the tally to 67. Tru-Cape’s quality manager Henk Griessel selected the Somerset West Night Shelter in Church Street to receive his fruit donation saying: “They do excellent work.” Halli Trust was the choice of assistant accountant Francois Archer, who said: “My wife told me about the excellent work they do in our community. Gloria Hungana (Halli Trust community representative), Nancy and Portia Msengana (Step by Step EduCare in Macassar) and Anastacia Malaoa (Halli Trust community representative) were eager to accept the donation.
