Somerset West police arrested a 27-year-old man for possession of drugs after finding Mandrax tablets in his home on Friday 22 May. Officers acted on information about drugs at a residence in Carey Park. A search of the premises uncovered 103 Mandrax tablets hidden in a cupboard. The suspect was charged with possession of drugs and has since appeared in the Somerset West Magistrates’ Court. The case remains under investigation.
Somerset West police are urging residents to check whether their missing bicycles are among unclaimed property held at Somerset West Police Station in Main Road. The first is a black Specialized Rock Shox bike found abandoned on Monday 2 March in The Interchange near Builders Warehouse Helderberg.
The second bicycle is a black, blue and yellow Titan Racing bike abandoned in the Somerset West area on Wednesday 29 April. Police provided no specific location of the discovery.Those wishing to claim either bicycle must provide proof of ownership.
