Two local NPOs have joined forces to focus on the development of youth in the Helderberg. I Can, a project of Kingdom of God Ministries, and the Lead Foundation, have collaborated to develop programmes focused on assisting the youth of Strand and Somerset West. It is led by pastors Tammy van Heerden (below) and Lori-Ann Marx (pictured here). Van Heerden is a nursing assistant and senior pastor at Kingdom of God Ministries, while Marx is a therapist and founder of the Lead Foundation. The programme, recently launched at an open day in Garden Village, aims to provide assistance with accessing birth certificates, clinic book records, physical and mental health therapy and early childhood development activities. The founders have issued a call to volunteers to assist with youth games, book readings, feeding projects and face-painting, among others. To volunteer or donate to the programme, call Van Heerden on 082 357 6645 or Marx on 067 821 0449.
