The power of collaboration was on full display as charitable entities from across the Helderberg gathered on Friday 27 February.
Halli Trust and Little Angels hosted their second annual NPO Day at the Suider-Strand Dutch Reformed church, bringing together 41 different organisations from across the basin. The event combined networking opportunities with valuable learning, as participants enjoyed tea while connecting with fellow do-gooders.

The day’s highlight was a presentation by Sallvon Fransman, a community development manager at institutional capacity building for the provincial Department of Social Development.

Drawing on more than 25 years of experience that began as a social worker, Fransman shared practical insights about leading NPOs, understanding the department’s role in their work and navigating the ongoing challenges of funding.
His interactive session provided attendees with essential tips and tricks for strengthening their organisations and expanding their impact in the community.
Heidi Naude, CEO of Halli Trust and co-organiser of the event, expressed enthusiasm for the future. She confirmed the organisers are now fully committed to making the NPO Day an annual tradition that continues to strengthen the Helderberg’s charitable sector.
