Following a successful debut earlier this year, Letters of Reflection by WGRUV Dance Company returns to Cape Town for a limited run at the Homecoming Centre on Friday 15 August (19:30) and Saturday 16 August (15:00 and 19:30).
This captivating production features seven original works by Holly and Lex Gruver, alongside the popular piece Unsquared by acclaimed American choreographer Tyler Gilstrap.
The performance blends neoclassical and contemporary movement, weaving poetic stories through expressive, technically masterful choreography.
Each dance piece unfolds like a letter – intimate, emotive, and deeply resonant – exploring universal themes of love, loss, identity, and hope.
Dancers trained in contemporary ballet bring a fresh, soulful quality to the stage, inviting audiences of all ages to see the world anew.

Overwhelming response
“Our hearts are full from the overwhelming response to our debut season,” says Holly Gruver, WGRUV’s creative artistic director.
“We’re thrilled to bring even more magic, movement, and emotion to the stage in Cape Town.”
Holly Gruver
Gruver, who has worked extensively in Africa over the past decade, is known for her emotionally driven neoclassical works. She is joined by Lex Gruver, WGRUV’s assistant co-director, whose collaborative works further elevate the performance.
Tyler Gilstrap, whose career includes work with the Battleworks Dance Company and choreography for the 2014 Sochi Olympics, adds her distinctive voice to the production.
Letters of Reflection is more than a dance show – it’s a moving meditation on memory, meaning, and the power of community.
