Localised flooding in low-lying areas including many streets in Bloemfontein with bad drainage, have started to occur during the ongoing rain today.

The Mangaung Metro warned residents about a Yellow Level 2 warning with severe thunderstorms issued by the South African Weather Service.

Residents are urged to exercise caution as thunderstorms may be accompanied by strong and damaging winds, excessive lightnng and heavy downpours.

This could lead to trees and blocked roads, damage to infrastructure, property and vehicles as well as localised fire incidents.

Residents are cautioned to drive slow and carefully where roads are flooded.
