BLOEMFONTEIN – Engo Family Care, a non-profit organisation (NPO), has received a worthy donation to the tune of R31 000 to enable it to continue providing much-needed essential services to the community. Courtesy of the local dealership Human Auto Bloemfontein, this was presented on Wednesday 23 September in Bloemfontein.

The donation continues the dealership’s support for the organisation and enables it to provide essential care to more than 200 000 people across the province.

Alda Fourie, provincial head of marketing at Engo, said that Engo Family Care renders essential services through its international Global Giving programme, which allows for the purchase of approximately 66 food packs for needy families. She said Engo Family Care is one of seven divisions within the organisation and has 10 offices that provide services to 11 towns in the province.

Fourie said that these essential food packs will be distributed this year to benefit needy families in the Free State to provide relief to families in distress. She added that they were grateful to the dealership for the selfless and ongoing support of Engo, further enabling them to serve more than 200 000 people annually in the province. Fourie said in the past year, a total of 89 865 people were reached through Engo Family Care services.

Currently, Engo employs a total of 54 workers – 26 social workers, 25 assistant social workers, and three supervisors managing all actions in the programme. For more information about Engo, members of the public can visit engo.co.za or send an email to info@engo.co.za.
