Cape Winelands District Municipality has deployed more than 100 firefighters for the 2024-’25 fire season, which officially began 1 November and runs until 30 April 2026. The season appears to have started early though, with Fire Services responding to 112 calls in October alone, requiring 1 099 man-hours of firefighting efforts.
