ZAMDELA — The brutal murder of a 65-year-old woman in Zamdela has shocked the local community.
The police are seeking public assistance in tracing suspects involved in the murder of the woman from Harry Gwala section, Zamdela.
On Friday, 12 December, Zamdela police attended a murder complaint at Harry Gwala section. Upon arrival, officers were directed to the lifeless body of the elderly woman lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds to her upper body. She was declared dead by Emergency Medical Services.
Family members alleged that on the same day, at approximately 07:00, they left the 65-year-old woman still sleeping. When they returned home at approximately 15:00, they discovered her motionless in a pool of blood.
The family alleges that the deceased’s handbag, which contained R1 500 in cash and her identity document, was missing from the scene.
