Hilton hit back quickly: a powerful surge from their eighthman set up the tighthead prop for the opening try, and the conversion made it 7–3. Hilton answered with a bruising driving attack that culminated in another try, extending their lead to 31–20. But two yellow cards for high tackles swung momentum back to Kearsney. With a two-man advantage, they pressed hard, and Miskey seized the moment—breaking through a half-gap and racing clear to score under the posts. His conversion brought the score to 31–27 with just minutes remaining.
The closing stages of this schoolboy rugby game were electric as Kearsney launched one final assault. Hilton’s defence held firm, winning a crucial breakdown penalty to secure a hard-fought 31–27 victory.
It was another down-to-the-wire encounter for Kearsney’s One-Stripe side, whose spirited second-half fightback nearly produced a remarkable comeback.
