A thin layer of snow was spotted earlier this evening (17 April) on Hex River Mountains between De Doorns and Worcester and on the Du Toitskloof peaks between Paarl and Robertson amidst a cold front that hit the Western Cape today.
With regard to weather conditions in the Breede River Valley where the snow was spotted, the SA Weather Service predicts that a combination of cold, wet and windy conditions may result in a wind chill factor. Thus temperatures may feel colder than the measured values.
A 60% chance of rain is expected for the Breede River Valley with a wind speed of 18km/h.
Accordint to the Weather Service https://www.weathersa.co.za cold, wet and windy conditions are expected over most parts of the Western Cape as well as in places over the Southern high-flying areas of the Namakwa District in the Northern Cape untill Monday (20 April).
